Steam page is here - Wishlist now!
It's happening! We finally have a steam page!! We even made a cool trailer for it.
If you liked Holder of Place, please consider wishlist it on steam and leave a review for our demo! It'll really help us win the favor of the overlord that is the steam algorithm!
We sincerely thank you all for sticking around, playing our game and giving us support. This project will never have made it this far without y'all!
Now, regarding what's going to happen next, here's some Q&A (with completely made-up questions!)
Q: How's the steam version different compares to the itch version?
A: Other than new cards, new events, new hunts, new relic modifiers and the complete journal lore collection, we plan to have 2 major factions (think of them as sandbat but on a much larger scale) and custom reliquary mode!
Q: When will the steam version release? How much will it cost?
A: The steam version will super likely release by the end of this year. We haven't decided on a price yet, but we will share it as soon as possible!
Q: What will happen to this itch page and the WebGL build?
A: The itch version will be here forever (that is, until itch shut down) and remain free! We will not take away any content that is already on the current WebGL build.
Q: Will the itch version continue to be updated?
A: It will be updated for bug fixes and balance changes, but the new stuff will only be available in the full release version on steam.
Q: Can you share some info on the new stuff?
A: Yes! Here's some teaser on the first major faction: a story about a blasphemous machine made by an arrogant kingdom, and its power you’ve decided to borrow...
You and your followers wandering down a dark hall. You can’t tell how deep in this slumbering structure you’ve gone. Deathly silence kept you company the whole journey.
Suddenly, far away, echoing between the broken walls, a faint, rhythmic whirl of a machine. Following it, you wander into a round room. Some sort of vault. Richly decorated, walls covered in murals; clearly made by the nobles of Mir. You catch yourself thinking: ‘Whatever it is they were keeping, they want it hidden good.”
In the center of the room, a loom. It’s clearly operational, as it churns away tirelessly, even as you watch. Yet, no threads enter or emerge from it. The follower of your choosing ventures ahead, bravely, and touches the loom. In that moment, your vision rips into countless bottomless holes, and that follower become...
...The Fate’s Beloved.
Chosen by the loom, now the threads unseen bound their will and path, latching and weaving into all they touch. Will you choose to elevate them or damn them?
We'll share more info on the faction as we get closer to the release! Stay tune here, on steam, or in our discord!
Oh and a small update on itch:
- Added a lot of new Journal entries!
- Fixed artificered lightkeeper not gaining the correct amount of stats (again...)
- Scout can no longer show up when the effect of another scout is currently active. This is so that you can no longer use incubator to infinitely lock-in new scouts. Although you can still use incubator and scout to get one card of your choosing!
Again, thank you SO MUCH for your support! And please leave a review on our steam demo if you can!!

Congrats on your Steam page project…! I hope this is wildly successful for you. :)
I’m ridiculously fond of the Sandbat. Looking forward to see the other factions you’ve devised.
